Wold Oil Properties, Inc. (WOPI) is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company that is headquartered in Casper, Wyoming with an office in Denver, Colorado. Founded by John S. Wold, a former United States Congressman for Wyoming and the first Geologist to serve in the United States Congress, the company today is managed and owned by John's sons, Peter and Jack. WOPI handles oil and gas operations and is an affiliate member of the Wold Companies. The Wold Companies are family owned businesses, focusing on the energy, real estate and ranching sectors in the Rocky Mountain Region.

WOPI is a completely integrated oil and gas company. It has focused its exploration and production efforts in Wyoming and neighboring Rocky Mountain States. WOPI primarily built its reserve base through the acquisition and enhancement of producing properties. It has also built a reserve base through the acquisition of significant land positions for the purpose of developing oil and gas resources. Wold Oil Properties, Inc. has previously operated as many as 20 separate oil and gas fields. WOPI currently operates oil fields in Moffat County, Colorado and coalbed methane properties in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming.

WOPI is the past operator and longtime principal owner of the Riley Ridge natural gas field in Sublette County, Wyoming. WOPI has teamed with SFC Energy Partners of Denver in forming Riley Ridge Limited Liability Company (RRLLC) to develop the large natural gas reserves in the Riley Ridge area. Through a joint venture with Cimarex Energy Company, RRLLC is drilling wells and contructing a processing plant to handle up to 200 million cubic feet of gas per day of raw gas. The project is expected to come on line in Q3 2011 and will produce and sell 40 MMCF of methane and 1 MMCF per day of helium. The helium sales volume will account for roughly 7% to 9% of the world supply. The project will also be the largest CO2 sequestration facility in the US. Additionally, WOPI manages the mineral estate holdings for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and its subsidiary companies.
